Batman's Most Badass Animated Scene
- Tuesday, 18 August 2009
With Batman: Arkham Asylum only a week away from release, gamers might finally get the Batman game we've all been waiting for. To get extra bat-hyped up for the release, we've found one of Batman's most badass and brutal scenes on a console you wouldn't expect.
The clip above is from The Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Sega CD. I knew the game had come out for the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo, but a Sega CD version had suprised me. Unlike the side-scrolling beat em' up SNES and Genesis iterations, Batman on the Sega CD is made up of batmobile and batjet portions of the game.
All the animation was done by one the in-house studios who did a few of the episodes for the original animated series, which is why the cut-scenes look fantastic and match the quality of cartoon (and even surpass it in a few spots). You'll notice the scenes are a lot more brutal and violent than in the cartoons as well as carrying a few anime overtones since the studio that produced the episodes also does Japanese animation.
