PS3 to get cross game chat, according to Naughty Dog rep post

Apparently, it's going to happen. And a Naughty Dog rep let it slip on a playstation.com board (the post itself is legit, as you will see in a moment). However, probably upon realizing that the person, named “ReklissAbandon” (which fits when you think about it now), had revealed the news, they deleted the post almost as fast as it was made.

The thing that slipped? That the Playstation 3 will be receiving the highly requested cross game chat feature on the next firmware update. And they didn't delete it fast enough, because someone was so kind to take a snapshot of it before they deleted it.

"I think they wanted people to have fun and ejoy [sic] the show since all dead players can talk to each other no matter what team you are on. But I will suggest it anyway. Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions."

You can tell it's legit due to the “Naughty Dog” tag below the name. That's a special image reserved for only those that are official people at Sony or first party devs. Which means that this person was in fact someone from the inside. Which is why it got taken down quickly, we assume.

But stay tuned for further updates on this. We just hope this dev doesn't get punished for this slip up. We assume there is something to this, since this IS an official who basically works FOR Sony, and when it DOES happen, it'll be taking away one of the only advantages that XBox Live still has over PSN.
