RealView announced the US launch of 'Deep Screen' for 2D enhancements without 3D glasses
- Tuesday, 31 August 2010
The Deep Screen is simply a screen that is attached to an LED, LCD, or Plasma TV monitor or display and instantly adds dimension and depth to any content like movies and video games. Most compelling, the Deep Screen does not require 3D glasses and enhances any existing 2D content by uncovering depth cues already existent in 2D images and video, thus creating a greater sense of depth perception.
Home-based 3D solutions have encountered numerous problems, causing delays in widespread adoption by consumers. Most notably, many consumers don’t want to wear uncomfortable 3D glasses and few can afford the exorbitant cost of 3D televisions, 3D components and 3D content. RealView Innovations’ patented Depth-Enhancing Technology is the only viable alternative to the global search for a user-friendly, multi-dimensional viewing experience.
“The Deep Screen is the only available, affordable home-based solution that bridges the gap between 2D and 3D and overcomes the majority of problems found with current home-based 3D products,” stated Eamonn Ansbro, RealView’s Executive Director. “Thus far there have been numerous roadblocks to 3D being adopted into most home entertainment systems. The technology is just not matching the desire. The Deep Screen is the only product on the market that can satisfy the consumer demand for enhanced depth perception.”
